Police investigation following incident at Johnson’s of Old Hurst |

Dear Resident, We are writing to inform you of a serious incident which took place this afternoon at Johnson’s of Old Hurst, in Old Hurst. Emergency services were called to the zoo at 1.24pm following reports of an incident involving a three-year-old boy, who entered the crocodile enclosure. The child was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital with serious injuries and is currently in a critical but stable condition. Specially trained officers are at the hospital supporting the boy’s family. A 30-year-old man from Norfolk has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. Detectives from the Major Crime Unit are leading the investigation. This is a distressing incident, and we understand it may cause concern within the community. Our investigation is ongoing, and further updates will be provided when appropriate. Our thoughts remain with the boy and his family at this time. Anyone who was at the zoo at the time and believes they may have information that could assist the investigation is asked to contact police. Thank you for your understanding.
